Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic is hosting a free vaccination event

PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – The Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic will host a free pet vaccination event this Saturday at Hardy Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.

This clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be a drive-through event, allowing pet owners to remain in their vehicles while their pets are vaccinated.

The event will feature Canine DAPPv and Feline HCP vaccines that help prevent canine parvovirus and panleukopenia in cats.

“They will undergo a brief examination and we will make sure they are well to receive a vaccine. And then we’ll go ahead and give you the vaccine and get you some records. Again, this is so important. Parvo is really everywhere. It’s very common in our community and it lives in the environment and it’s easy to get it. It’s deadly if our pets catch it and one hit can truly save a pet’s life,” said Dr. Alicia Fortenberry of the Southern Pines Pet Clinic.

These vaccines will be available for cats and dogs at least eight weeks old.

Other services such as heartworm screening tests and flea prevention will also be offered at the clinic at regular prices.

For more information about this event, you can visit the clinic’s Facebook page.
